The original “House of Cards” aired in the U.K. in 1990, 1993, and 1995; you can tell by the way it looks and feels. Stylistically, it’s a cross between “The Crying Game” and “Murder, She Wrote.” It’s not bad, but the current U.S. version produced by Netflix is far superior. That version is darker, sleeker, and bolder. I’m sure that this worked for its time, but it has become dated. There’s no need to watch this when you can watch Netflix’s production.
