Series Premieres

Jett (Cinemax)
“Whoever says crime doesn’t pay is doing it wrong.” Such is the slogan of world-class thief Daisy ?Jett? Kowalski. Fresh out of prison, Jett’s retirement plans don’t last very long when powerful crime lord Charlie Baudelaire offers her one “final” task in Cuba. The scheme not only reunites Jett with a former flame, but sets off a chain of unexpected events that endangers everyone she cares for and pits her against ruthless criminals determined to exploit her skills for their own ends. Carla Gugino, best known for her action-filled turns in the “Spy Kids” film franchise, stars as the reluctant title thief.

Too Old to Die Young (Amazon)
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy Martin Jones’ life is blown apart in one tragic night, and he is forced into a deadly underground of cartel soldiers, yakuza assassins and mysterious vigilantes as his past sins close in on him.

City on a Hill (Showtime)
In early 1990s Boston, violent criminals, corruption, and racism are part of the norm. Hailing from Brooklyn, District Attorney Decourcey Ward seeks change and forms a surprising alliance with a hardened FBI veteran. This unlikely duo take on a family of armored car robbers from Charleston. The case evolves into the change that Boston needs by altering the city’s criminal justice system.

Los Espookys (HBO)
A group of friends turns its love for horror into a peculiar business in a dreamy Latin American country where the strange and eerie are just part of daily life.

Season Premieres

Pose (FX)
Set in the 1980s, `Pose’ is a dance musical that explores the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the ball culture world, the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, and the downtown social and literary scene. Blanca forms a `house’, a self-selected family that provides support to LGBTQ youth who have been rejected by their birth families. Damon is a dancer who joins Blanca’s house. Together, they compete in the balls — where house members challenge each other in various categories and are judged on their outfits, attitude, or dance skills — against Blanca’s former house mother, Elektra. Pray Tell is Godfather to the children who compete in the balls. Angel is a streetwalker who develops feelings for a new client, Stan, who has a loving wife, Patty. James Van Der Beek co-stars as Stan’s boss, Matt.

Krypton (Syfy)
Years before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El, fights to redeem his family’s honor after the House of El is ostracized and shamed over Seg’s grandfather’s false claims of a world-killer coming to Krypton. When an attack on the government is attempted, Seg seizes an opportunity to advance himself and his family by allying with those who sentenced his grandfather to execution and destroyed his family’s name but when evidence that his grandfather’s claims were true is discovered, Seg must work within the system that discarded the House of El in order to protect their future legacy.

Baskets (FX)
Chip Baskets has always dreamed of being a classically trained clown. After flunking out of French clown college — probably due to his inability to understand French — he returns home to Bakersfield, California, where he moves in with his mother, Christine, bickers with his twin brother, Dale, longs for his sophisticated Parisian ex-wife, and continues to pursue his professional clowning dream, with the assistance of his friend/assistant/insurance adjuster, Martha. Zach Galifianakis stars as both Chip and Dale, with Louie Anderson as Christine and Martha Kelly in the role of Martha.

Younger (TV Land)
Trying to start a new career gets more difficult as you age, which suddenly single-mom Liza realizes when she tries to re-enter the working world at 40. After a young tattoo artist convinces her she looks younger, Liza decides to do something about it. Her solution revolves around trying to pass herself off as 26, courtesy of a makeover by her best friend, Maggie. The newfound confidence helps get her a job assisting temperamental Diana. Teaming with 20-something co-worker Kelsey, Liza hopes to make it a dream career — while no one discovers her secret. She later has to deal with the fallout of the truth after revealing her secret to Kelsey.

Big Little Lies (HBO)
Based on the same-titled best-seller by Liane Moriarty, “Big Little Lies” weaves a darkly comedic tale of murder and mischief in the tranquil beachfront town of Monterey, Calif. Amidst doting moms, successful husbands, beautiful children, and stunning homes exists a community fueled by rumors and divided into haves and have-nots, exposing fractured relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, and friends and neighbors. Told through the eyes of three mothers — Madeline, Celeste and Jane — the series’ narrative explores society’s myths regarding perfection and its romanticization of marriage, sex, parenting and friendship. Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley star as the three prominent “mothers of Monterey.”
